Sunday Night at the Palladium / The Ed Sullivan Show

Show Name: Sunday Night at the Palladium / The Ed Sullivan Show
Network: BBC / CBS
Tape Date: March 10, 1963
Running Time: 60 Minutes

Judy's broadcast song was:

  • Smile
Notes:  From John Fricke's, "Judy Garland, World's Greatest Entertainer,"   this appearance was filmed as Judy was in London for the premier of "I Could Go On Singing."  The TV show was titled, "Sunday Night at the Palladium" in England - and Judy donated her salary - the largest ever paid  to any entertainer on this show, to the Thalidomide Fund which purchased artificial limbs for children born with birth defects.

Ed Sullivan excerpeted "Smile" for broadcast in the United States - which instantly became a Garland classic.
