I wanted to set up a page so that viewers of this site can appreciate the work that Bill Brooks has done in order for us to have all these absolutely wonderful graphics from our favorite movie, "The Wizard of Oz." He sent an e-mail and explained exactly what it was he had to do to create these images.

In that note, he said: "It's just like the movie restoration process, but one picture at a time. I color correct them and then I retouch any of the scratches and dust in the picture, for the black and white ones I also convert them to a sepia tone since the version I have of the film is where the beginning is just black and white, not sepia.)"

Bill, the work you've done, well, it's beyond my vocabulary to express how thankful I am that you're sharing these images with the world. I will tell you this - I know why you selected the name Tinman, you've already been to see the Wizard and found that you already had one of the biggest hearts ever seen in one man. Your generosity is something that I'll always treasure!

Isn't the Internet a wonderful thing? It takes people that are hundreds and sometimes thousands of miles apart - and gives us the chance to 'meet' through a common interest who would have in all probability never have known the other person existed otherwise. Bill, it is my pleasure and honor to be able to call you 'friend' and now a most gracious host!  We might disagree on certain things, Oz, but we'll always have The Kraft Music Hall!

Bill Brooks

Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
